Lancer Cares About Your Future

Sustainability. It’s a word that’s used quite often these days. But what exactly does it mean? It can mean the ability to be maintained at a certain level. Or, it can mean avoiding the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance. More recently, it has come to mean “meeting the needs of a present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.” What does this have to do with Lancer Corporation and our customers?

A
t Lancer, we understand that helping to protect the earth’s environment is one of the largest factors regarding sustainability. Our quality and environmental policy clearly dictates that “Lancer will consistently challenge its current state to deliver superior quality products that comply with all applicable environmental regulations. With balance and integrity, Lancer will meet or exceed our customers’ needs and expectations by maintaining careful stewardship of our natural resources through a process of pollution reduction.”

How do we do this? Lancer recycles 100% of all metal scrap including aluminum, copper, stainless steel and carbon steel. Additionally, we recycle cardboard, paper and broken wood pallets. Even our office and warehouse facilities have switched to LED lighting which consumes less energy and we recycle our test waters to mitigate sewage waste. To further improve and reduce our carbon footprint on the environment, we are in the process of exploring new, innovative ways to recycle our plastic regrind which will result in reduced land-fill waste.

Our high-quality products are built with long lasting functionality due to our selection of premium materials, focus on superior product development, utilization of the latest technologies and the commitment of highly skilled employees to do their best. We only manufacture the products our clients want and do not use up resources to create more inventory than is necessary, therefore reducing any negative environmental impact.

Lancer parts and equipment are manufactured to meet national and international agency requirements for sanitation and electrical safety. We comply with the standards of UL, NSF, ETL, CE, EMC, Low Lead and are RoHS compliant. Additionally, we support a sustainable environment by utilizing Non-HCFC, Non-HFC, zero GWP and zero ODP insulation materials.

These are only a few things we’re doing to help contribute to environmentally sound, sustainable solutions. When you and your customers are having drinks from a Lancer dispenser, you’re helping too.

Above all, thanks for being a responsible Lancer customer!

Sensation 44, Lancer’s newest cold-carbonated ice beverage dispenser, has made its debut.  Sensation 44 provides 12 drink choices, up to 8 bonus flavors, and chewable ice that your customers crave.  Built in cold carbonation provides an exceptionally crisp, fresh tasting beverage.  Thanks to the right and left side ice chutes, it’s easy for more than one customer to use the dispenser at the same time.  Plus, there won’t be ice piles in the drip tray, ice on the floor, or ice bridging in the high capacity ice storage bin.  If you prefer cubed ice rather than chewable ice, Sensation 44 can dispense ice cubes without modifying the equipment.  Built with heavy duty stainless steel throughout, it comes with a stainless steel or matte black exterior.  (Matte black exterior is an additional charge.)  Stylish curved lines and environmentally friendly LED lighting enhance its visual appeal.

Sensation 44’s benefits go beyond customer satisfaction…  Installers will appreciate the plumbing access from the front and rear of the dispenser, as well as the integrated ice bin adapter that accepts most ice machines.  Service agents will appreciate the easy access to serviceable parts from the front of the unit.  Employees will appreciate the high capacity drip tray that reduces spills and clean up.

Choosing an Ice Machine

Choosing the right ice machine for your establishment can be a frustrating experience. There are countless makes and models, from the simple machines that produce 60 pounds of ice a day to giants that can make over 1500 pounds of ice a day. How can you decide which ice machine is the best for you?

Cost

When purchasing any type of restaurant equipment, from your soda dispensing system to your ice machine, cost is going to be a factor. What you don’t want to do is undercut yourself in the hopes of saving a couple of dollars. You are probably going to have your ice machine for a number of years, and there’s no point in starting out with something that you hate (or worse yet, isn’t up to snuff).

Size

The second largest consideration for your ice machine should be about size. Measure the space where you want your ice machine to go before you start browsing for a new one, and don’t forget to put clearance space around it too! Like a refrigerator, an ice machine needs to breathe.

How much ice do you need in a day?

The following is an ice usage estimator. Please note that these are merely estimates and that some of your patients, patrons, or customers might use a lot or a little ice.

Restaurant: 1.5 pounds per person
Cocktail Lounge: 3 pounds per person
Hotel: 5 pounds per room
Convenience Store: 6 oz per 12 oz drink
10oz per 20 oz drink
15 oz per 32 oz drink
Hospital: 10 pounds per patient

Speed of Production

Generally, the more ice the machine can make in an hour, the larger the machine. How fast do you need your ice? Are you in a busy bar where you’re dispensing sodas, beer, and other drinks at a lightning pace? Are you in a fast-serve type of restaurant where running out of ice might be the source of complaints?

Types of Ice

The type of ice you need will also determine what machine to get. Are you needing cube, chewable, flake, or a specialty form? Learn what type you need before shopping around. There’s plenty of articles about the different types of ice on the web. We’re fond of cubelets for our sodas, cubes for alcoholic drinks, and nuggets for specialty drinks.

Quality Reputation

It’s necessary to consider the quality of the company. The company from which you buy your ice machine should have a devotion to customer service and believe that you’re more than just a sale. Is it Compatible with your Lancer Soda Machine?

Basically, does the ice machine that you want play well with your soda machine? In most cases, the answer will be yes, definitely, but it’s always good to check just in case. It would be a bad day to get your ice machine and realize that it won’t work with your Lancer soda dispenser.

Looking for an ice machine can be a tedious process. Always remember to call your ice machine vendor and soda machine vendors if you have any questions.
